Vertical Farming Robot.

CREATE Lab, EPFL - Research Fellowship

April 2025-Jan 2026

Plants go through multiple growth stages, each demanding unique interactions. An agricultural robot must adapt to these changes to enable autonomous crop management.

Approach

Robotic base

  • 8 degrees of freedom.
  • Modular end effectors.

Combined system

  • Automatic hydroponic system.
  • Plant indexing using markers.
  • Computer vision for plant detection.

Teleoperation

  • For complex tasks.
  • Pathway for imitation learning.
